Perhaps the greatest irony in the issue of welfare came from a statement by the Father of Big Government, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Roosevelt, a man known for giving in on his previous word and selectively compromising his beliefs, not to mention the Constitution, in pursuit of an agenda. Roosevelt took to the podium on March 2, 1930 to talk about states rights as Governor of New York. In this speech, printed in entirity on March 3, 1930 by the New York Times, he had this to say:

"As a matter of fact and law, the governing rights of the States are all of those which have not been
surrendered to the National Government by the Constitution or its amendments. Wisely or unwisely,
people know that under the Eighteenth Amendment Congress has been given the right to legislate on this particular subject1, but this is not the case in the matter of a great number of other vital problems of government, such as the conduct of public utilities, of banks, of insurance, of business, of agriculture, of education, of social welfare and of a dozen other important features. Roosevelt went back on this statement not two years later as he was elected president and instituted the New Deal. In fact most of the key New Deal relief programs were immediately declared unconstitutional for the very reasons subject of this page.

You think that the answer lies in bringing everyone home, I also agree once the job is finished and not before. Certainly not for political reasons to help Mr Obama get re-elected. If I ha dmy way with it, our military would be much larger than it currently is. I would have every young man at age 18 or when they graduate from high school pull 4 years in the Service of this flea bitten Country. That includes your kids, mine and all of the Senators too.
We can get into a long drawn out discourse of our belief's if you like. I stand for what's right (for my family, Country and beliefs), not whats correct for the current day. My attitude has not and will not change. Be prepared and ready to do what is needed. If you are as "worldly" as you would have us all believe, you would know how the real world is. There are countless and I mean countless of evil people out there that would gut your family just because they happen to be Americans. I for one could care less what their reasons are, I would rather have my act together if they come calling. I have personally seen what men will do for money, ideology, brain washing,etc........ If I remember you said in passing that you were a Marine (no my opinion hasn't changed about that either), if so you know in this "imperfect" World we live in, we have to have folks that are with us when we get the call. There are very few that I would rather have with me when the "sh t hit's the fan" than an Isreali soldier. Fact of the matter is, WE do alot of what we do to keep Isreal from doing what they would like to do.
