    Crooked Costas

Scott from the Great Outdoor Provision Co. was so kind to arrange an exchange for my glasses that Costa would not warranty. So today I rode the 25 miles over to Winston and the exchange was painless. Excellent service.

I got home opened the glasses and they felt weird. Costa changed the style on the wave killers and I thought that might be it for a minute. But then I realized they felt crooked. They were crooked right out of the box. Now these are $159 glasses.

I don't know about you guys, but I expect a little more than this.

I swear, you would think I was making this stuff up.

Jim, why did you not try them on??????? My staff has everyone put the sunglasses on and then adjust them for a perfect fit each time. I thought you were done with Costa anyway.

BTW, were you on the Bluewater Lady on Saturday afternoon. She was headed out of the inlet kind of late in the day, just curious if ya'll were doing a overnight trip or something like that.

It was a courtesy exchange from TGOPC, so I just took them and rolled.

No, not on that boat anymore. With the baby coming, I needed to start getting my affairs in order. I will be doing my own thing again this winter.

    may be worth a try

My wavekillers seemed to loose shape over time, becoming loose on my head. I boiled water and held the glasses over the steam, as I bent the frames to the shape I wanted. I did this for maybe 30-60 sec. and then held them under cold water for the same. You could probaly do the same thing and just twist the glasses as needed.
I'm sure someone is now going to explain to me how this is not a good idea. But, if I can't get someone from Costa to to return a phone call/email, what choice do I have?

you can heat the palstic up a bit with a hair dryer and bend them. the plastic should have a memory in them.

I may be able to fix them by anyone of several different ways,

However, I still say that $159.00 sunglass should come straight, then if you need to bend them to fit your crooked head, thats your issue. But leave those of us with regular heads out of it.

I have left the costa game after similar crap you get when you but a pair of high dollar lenses and they fail to meet your expectations

I have resorted to calcutta glasses and for $20 a pair I have 3 pair. I have put costa on in blue water and my calcuttas on right after and I still see the same fish ever bit as clear.

There is no better lense than the 580 lense by Costa. My glasses lose their shape over time. I just heat them up a bit and bend them to fit my face. I have had my current pair for 6 years now. I have had to send them back to Costa because I sat on them, but other than that, I have had no problems. I am tempted to buy another pair as a backup.
