    Credit Card FYI,

Just had something come through VIA e-mail, stating that our card has been blocked for "security" reason's, unusual activity and attempted use by someone else. Long story short, I called credit card company and there are NO block's on the card. The page that was sent look's official and has sevral logo's that are common with credit card's. They run you to the next page and ask for all the info that will 100% do you in! It look's very legit, don't fall for it! It comes across as "Visa Security Measures". Frank

    It's remarkably common.

Partial solution, use Internet Outlook's native capability to block not only the e-mail from which it came, but also, the domain from which it came. Many if not most of the come from Eastern European domain names. For instance, I think Romania's principle domain is .ro and Russia's is .ru or something like that. None of that stuff gets by my Outlook filters.

    LongFisher,

That's what suprised me and why I posted it on here. The e-mail got post both the outlook filter's and the security filter's I have in addition. Like I said it looked remarkably authentic (guess they all do). This is the first of it's kind that got thru. Frank

Real credit card companies automatically kill the card and call you when they suspect it's not you using it, don't know how they know, but all the card companies I've used, have done this and issued new cards........

While we're on the subject of e-mail scams beware of one supposedly from the Better Business Bureau stating that a complaint has been registered against your business. Same thing, very authentic looking, has a case number and a link to respond. Don't click the link!
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
