    Wink Crabs and eatin

    OK. heres the deal.
Got this place in Millsboro De on a canal the end of last year.
I'm thinkin, Crabs, clams for nothin and easy pickins.
    Wrong.
The close places that I would drop a trap look like times square on new years day. 8 trips to the pots and just about 8 keeper crabs. Guess I need to limit crabbin to the off season when everybody else goes home. Haven't tried clammin yet but not to hopefull.
    Question ?
Eastern shore guy I knew asked me once if I ate the softshell in a hard shell crab. Asked what he was talking about. It's that little bit you find in the corner of the top shell. Took some pics and they follow. Anybody else eat this ? Looks kinda like a slug but tastes good.

Joe- go to where I showed you that we put our traps out- sure there are some others, but the last few times we had around 1/2 to 3/4 a bushel a day.

I think the secret to that spot is all the shade that the Grady up on the lift creates.

Joe what you are talking about is crab fat it is great eating but your health inspector won't want you eating to much (high colesterol) I liken it to eatin the big gob of fat in the middle of a Delmonico steak YUUUUMMMMY

As for that clamming you get up with me sometime next week I will give you an intro to clamming if you like, I slip out and get a batch of steamers (1.5" to 2") from time to time and I can show you the easy way to biggun's (3"+)anytime. Course once I show you my secret spot I will have to leave you there to fend for yourself
