Cozumel and the Mayan Ruins a Disney Exursion

The day in Cozumel started with a downpour but by the time our excursion began the skies had let up. It turned out to be a nice day.

The downpours had flooded the streets mightily. Thoughts of hurricane Wilma that pounded this city 5 years prior crept into my mind. Wilma's scars have not healed and there is still signs of here wrath throughout the island.



It's beauty as an island still shines through and the time at the ruins was very special.

So where is the picture of the iguana's? Don't tell me all the tree chickens are gone now....they used to amble down around the dock and eat the flowers. Talk about a 4lb challenge.....

My favorite memory was Castro coming to visit, they gave everyone a bucket of white wash and the day off - to white wash everything.

Sea Wraith's' Capt/Mate brought over all the neither can confirm or deny heaters cause they thought Castro might want to go sportfishing out've Puerto Abrigado [sic's?].

Good times - you need to go to the northern extent and look out.

No Iguanas in Cozumel. Did see a saltwater croc on the other side of the island. The side with no electricity. A lot of damage on that side of island still. Really beautiful island though. Even with the rain

While I was down there John Rybovitch tried to catch a sword - at night on fly out've Cozumel. Supposedly came close. I wouldn't have known who he was except Steve Richardson introduced me to John in the airport.

Odd enough, Joe Mott had the new, at the time, Jim Smith "Backlash" down there. Years later Steve bought the boat and runs it to this day....

Anyone know if Tiny Brown and Willie McDowell still fish? I wish I'd seen them together on the 31 Bert as a crew...
