Costa Rica Sailfish Tourney w/Zebco 33's

One of my buddies is trying to get a small tourney going down here.

It will Bait and Switch only and only Zebco 33's

Right out of the box...80#leaders and a circlehook.

What do you think??

pictures and video are a must....sounds like a fun tourney with a level playing field. If I were to show up with my Sponge Bob special, would I be considered a ringer?

My fishing club in Miami used to hold an annual 1 day tournament with Zebco 202's Rules were you could not open the blister pack until you got to the ramp. This was held i Flamingo, on the flats and channels, not offshore for pelagics. Still a lot of busted tackle. I hooked one fish that pulled the reel out of the reel seat and up to the first guide. Great fun and really made us appreciate modern day tackle & drags.

I am afraid it will lead to some crazy boat driving. People will be backing down so fast people will be swimming in the cockpit.

Still could be fun. Something different.
