They are old concrete fright carriers from the 1st world war.
They are anchored to form a breakwall for the log pond at our local pulp mill.

Hey... believe it or not, I used to see bears in my back yard and where I used to mt bike in New Jersey. I lived in the northwest corner near Del Water Gap and the PA/NY/NJ border. The last I heard there were over 1400 bears in the state..!!!
