    Cool military photos

I apologize if these have already been posted here, but for those among us who really appreciate nice photos with a military theme, here are some good ones:

    I love the Military!!!!!!!

I'm a service brat, my wife's a service brat. I'm a vet and so is she. Been there- done that, and still DIG IT!!! I have a real hard time understanding why any kid right out of High School don't want to do that. I couldn't wait, let the adventure begin. Is there something wrong with me? Maybe I'm just "over patriotic", quick call DR. Phil. Frank,SeaPower

All I can say it WOW!!
Those pics are awesome, especially the one of the carrier in the middle of making a u turn. And thanks to everyone in the military, and their loved ones, for risking EVERYTHING for this great country.

    I am a service ex-wife..

Seriously though... we have five sons, three of whom are out of work and looking without much luck and lacking any kind of real experience.... no matter what.. they refuse to consider the military as an option... i see free housing, free medical, learn some skills, see the world.... (get some discipline...!!!! ).... i don't think you're "over patriotic" - it really is an opportunity for almost anyone...!!!

    La Gringa,

That's how I saw it! I loved it, great real world experience. Everyone including my father said "don't volunteer for anything". I volunteered for everything, that's why I was there. I wanted to see it all. I know alot maybe, most people are against the draft, not me. I think that every (I'm going to be chouvanistic here) young man when he leaves high school owes his country 2 to 4years. Look we've got a generation or two, that can't make themselves get out of bed in the morning. No discipline, no respect, no pride, don't have the skill's to make a good living, Etc, etc, etc. It's all there if you will just take advantage of your time spent in. One of the most simple and most important lesson's I learned was '"there is no reason to be late". I was late once, put in "hack", that was enough for me. Real life changing event.
The things I learned and was exposed to there are still used everyday. I have my own business, doing marine engine (diesel mostly), transmission and mechanical service. I've got a 100 ton Master's ticket, unlimited radar, towing endorsements, that I use delivering boats in the Spring and Fall ,just to kind of break things up. I've never been out of work. Wasn't always doing what I liked at the time, but my family NEVER went without. Thank you for the education Uncle Sam. Yes some of the stuff I could have done without, but for the overwhelming majority, it was awsome. I really don't see the problem. Why don't they join as a first resort instead of the last?
I need to clarify something here, right now. I'm not refering to the Heroes past and present who have served ,God Love Them. They answered the call without question and can never be thanked enough by all of us living in this Opportunity Rich USA. If it wasn't for them , well ,we could all fill in the blank's.
I felt it was an Honor to serve and still do. It's real simple in my book. If I have 2 people in front of me trying for the same job, one's a vet and the other isn't. I'll take the Vet everytime. He know's how to get out of bed and he know's there's no reason to be late!!! Frank,SeaPower

While I'm on a roll here,

The real overlooked HEROE'S are the wives and family left behind. I know what it's like to come up with your father gone 6 month's at a time and you left to be the "man" of the house at age 6. Ain't every woman that's got the "spunk" to tough it out on her own, while her other half is God know's where. It's a special breed and my hat is off to them. Being raised in a Navy family, I alway's heard the "navy" wife jokes. It pissed me off them and it does now. Raise the kids, keep up with the bills, fix the car, keep up the house (paint, mow, fix the leaking faucet). Try not to show the kids your afraid when something happens in your husband's corner of the world. Yes sir sounds like my kind of woman!!! Oh no that is my WOMAN! Frank,SeaPower

I tried really hard to get both of my own sons to join the military. I was pressuring them toward the USCG, or the Navy, of course. But neither one showed any interest at all.

Well, actually my youngest talked to a Marine recruiter, took some kind of aptitude test. Scored 99 on it, but I figure everybody probably scores 99.....the recruiter told him he could probably have his pick of jobs...

I was disappointed he decided not to go for it, but it's their decision to make, of course.
