    confused about camcorders

I've been searching and reading the threads about video cameras and now I'm more confused than ever.
    I've been given 2 camcorders:

Panasonic MiniDV model PVGS31- the videos look fine in the little bitty screen on my computer but if I make them full screen they are real blurry. It is a couple of years old but I never use it. Am I doing something wrong or is it the camera? I read Flatbottom's post on the USB speed but I am sort of lost.

My mom just gave me a brand new Sony DCR-SR45. I haven't tried it yet but I've read it's hard to transfer Sony videos?

    Questions-
    1. should I get rid of both and by something else?
    2. should I keep the sony or take it back?
    3. should I keep both of them and use one for fishing and outdoor stuff and one for baby video at home?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not an expert but does your panasonic have a resolution setting ?
If so, go to higher resolution and maybe larger will be clearer.

I'd try the sony and see how it works for you before trading it in.
    Hope this helps.
