    Computer Advice Needed

I'm having a problem viewing videos. Sound is fine but the video looks like a slide show, going from a still pic at a time. Don'tknow what else may need to be included at the moment and if any can be of assistance please keep your help VERY simple.. thanks

Fortunately computer at work does the trick, so I'm able view when I get the time but not at home.

What connection are you using Dial-up or Broadband?
    Dial-up will cause these issues.

Maybe a memory or connection issue

    Some thoughts
Make sure you have some hard drive space open (at least 20 megs)

Clean out your internet cache (Internet browser - Tools, Options, Delete Cookies, Delete Files, Clear History)

Try letting the video load for an extended period of time, then come back and replay it. If you are on a slow connection it may just need more time to load before playing. You may also want to try right clicking it and saving it locally, then playing.

If that doesn't work, maybe it would be good for an artificial reef project

If I can get my window open, I'd throw it 6 floors down.

If its not a computer or connection problem try this (assuming you are using windows media player). In WMP click tools->options->performance tab and make sure it is set to full video acceleration. Also make sure you have DirectX 9 or above: Click start->run and type "dxdiag" without the quotes. It will bring up a screen that will give you the DX version, and clicking on the tabs at the top you will see a few diagnostic video tests.

most likely your computer is not fast enough to run the video's. It can be either be maxing out your CPU, not enough memory, or video card does not have enough HP.

post your computer specs and connection speed and that will tell us more of what is going on.

after you have tried all the above, play the movie as small as possible, if it plays fine in a little teeny tiny window frame you might need the Wahoonbox upgraded computer found at local electronics outlets. It comes complete with windex and a cloth to wash the diet pepper you spit on the monitor when laughing at some of his vids, and also a war stick just like the one box uses in his vids so you can hook the monitor top dead center so not to ruin the screen and give that real life heart beating thrill of being in da pit and also an Ark bobble head doll complete with a pull string playing many dico tunes from the 70's and I will throw in a dvd showing the art of netting featuring Cowboy, Byrd, Johnseafood18 and all the stars you read and here about on SFC. This package can only be purchased at the SFC online store. Call now and We will include a DVD starring no other than Deep C and......proof of age is required for this DVD or you could just try a better vid card for the computer....have a good day

Everybody, thanks for the ideas and laughs. Honey-do's are killing me, getting them done first allows me to fish un-bothered in summer. Will hopefully be able to sit down with this tonight or tomorrow.
