[QUOTE=jbones11;456824] Well the next 3 days we shite and puked our guts up. It flowed from both ends. Finally after four days of absolute hell in the darkness of a rank and puke smelling room we popped back to life with one day to spare after the worst and only case of food poisoning from a bad set of oysters. No idea, they all tasted the same.

Just thought I would point that out to you in case you hadn't thought of it. I hate seeing anyone getting sick on shellfish.
Damn Alex--- I recon you ought to crawl under your car and inspect each time before you start it.
Oysters---- the proper way to eat Oysters is just like Beef--- you must let them age. Take a sack of Oysters and age them under your house for about 10 days--- no ice, and you want to seal the sack in a container to keep the flavor nice and concentrated.

Oysters will keep fine one ice for a few days--- just don't let them sit and drown in water. If you live near a fairly clean creek, the best thing to do this time of year is as Neil suggests and put them in a crab pot ( or anything that can get decent water flow) and store them in the Creek--- note: it should be fairly salty water or you will loose some flavor.

where you eat oysters and how many you eat depends on the way you feel..

going to place that does not have a raw bar and eating oysters is like going to a greek diner and ordering chicken parm!!!

the two just dont tango... thats the way i feel!!

i have eaten oysters everyday for a week before and never got sick..

but then i went to a not-so-seafood related restaurant and ate outside and got sick..

all i can sya is stay away from blue points. lol
