Most of you know Cathy (CATHOD) as the crazed fisher woman, but few know that she is a very talented artist. Pencil, charcoal, scratchboard - almost any medium.
A few months ago she contacted her sisters and offered to do some family portrait work. Something to keep her busy in the winter months.. One sister sent JPGs of six grandchildren, and asked for a grouping to be done - but stipulated an 11" x 17" canvas.
Cathy had to work with a magnifying glass on the children's faces. You wouldn't believe it if you could see the original photos she had to work from.
Anyway, although it doesn't really do it justice, here is a photo of her acrylic on canvas work. (Note - if the facial expressions look odd, they are just as shown on the photos..).
