Carpenter Bees in the Bilge Outlet

Okay, a gratifying day. Killed about 8 carpenter bees that just took up residence in the bilge pump outlet hose since this warm weather started. Totally flushed the bilge out and I think they're done. Now, the question is: how do I keep them out of there in the future?

Any suggestions are welcome...short of using a MK-84 bomb to kill them!

Perhap took up residence because of some antifreeze or pink winterizing juice coming out? Once you're in the water I imagine that problem will go away, if you trailer it home, put a cork in the opening.
