Well in Raleigh, we've only got about 1/2 that much snow - and it is sleeting now - but thankfully no freezing rain at this point.

In Oriental about 10:30 last night we were having sleet and a very little snow. This morning, the proch rails were about 1/2" thick but now it is almost all gone, yard is soaked and very soft, tonight will be interesting...

Just want to thank all of you Southerners for taking the hit for us once again. We received heavy rain about a week or so ago here in Maine and most of the snow melted - at least here on the coast. Just a few patches of snow in the front yard and no major storms in the forecast.

Of course, Tuesday is my favorite holiday. You guessed it - Groundhog Day. Time to see what Phil has planned for the rest of the winter. Last year I had visions of Punxsatawney patties w/ portabellas, side of pickles. I might let Phil off easy this year.

It is fricken cold though, with day-time temps below freezing and night-time temps in the single digits. Perfect weather for doing year-end tax stuff.

The snow cream was a big hit after dinner last night. The wife and kids had never had it before.

The snow we had was sort of sleety, so it turned out like a cross between a slurpie and ice cream. It was really good.

I have two big bowls of snow in the freezer, so we might experiment this week with some flavors.
