There is hope on the horizon. The free market will respond. Necessity is the mother of invention :

Hey, fuel cells are already being used to partially run both gas and diesel cars. Now won't it be cool when in a few years we'll be floating our boat in our fuel ????

Nice but you have to ask yourself why the world is not falling all over this guy if he will sell his secret for $200, I would think that the energy in against energy out ratio is wrong way around, having said that back in the day 70's in the UK we had a tv program called tomorrows world, which had 2 dutch guys that had an old cv2 an old citron that ran on sea water, they had tested it for 100,000kms never seen a thing or heard of them again!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't let your Doctor try to wean you off oxygen to reduce co2.
He might say," I'll cut you to 19% from 21%." You will say," but Doctor what are you weaning me to." He'll say, "don't worry about that. We are working on it".

Don't fall for alternative energy story until it is ready to go to market.

How about having a "sticky" to post fuel prices by region?

For example I am on the Manasquan and there is a big variation on prices for diesel. It would be helpful to be able to look at a post and see who has better prices and who doesnt. When the price difference was a few cents a gallon it didnt matter as much, but now the differences are bigger and when that is applied to a few hundred gallons, now it starts to really matter.
