There is no doubt that most of Fred's post are long winded and detailed. If someone doesn't like that style of writing, then they can certainly move on to the next thread. For those that do like the detail (myself included) we learn a different take on things...."Fred's way"...may not be the way for any given person, but the man has certainly spent more time on the water than most and that gives you insight and tried and true experience. IMO, I think Fred has given more than he has taken for sure.

I enjoy the information that I read in Freds posts. I will admit that they are long winded and do promote stuff, but that doesn't mean that I have to buy his stuff- he is just pointing out about what he likes and sells also. I don't see anything wrong with plugging your merchandise as long as you contribute information to the forums.

If someone doesn't like reading his posts or looking at his products.....well, thats what the back button is for or click on another thread that trips your trigger!

I have just placed Sea Draggin in my never to read list. Typical as I was typing six replys came up before I submitted. All good but one rotten.

Nothing good to offer. Only to hurtfully slap my friend "long winded" old Fred in the face.

Just dont read a post that you dont care for. For heck sakes DON'T bother to reply with negative remarks.

Please Sea Draggin! Place myself and Fred and probably many others in your no read list so we can all get back to enjoying.

    Unhappy MAN WAS I WRONG!!!

    John,

You know that I am one for not backing down from my opinion. I always stand up to what I believe period. But I truly have wronged a special individual on this great fishing forum that you have founded. You always seem to do the right thing in almost every situation that you are confronted with. And a lot of times you just plain sit on the sidelines and let it roll. That is mostly what I love about this site, is that you can voice your opinion and not get shut down!! I did not set out in any way to hurt the man, I was actually trying to help him in my mind anyway. You know what I always say to you about the power of the internet. I was just trying to explain that a small ad would benefit him greatly in $$ and in the respect department. Well what I did not take into consideration is that a financial living in the world of fishing is about as hard a living as it gets. Most individual are doing it solely for the quality of life thing. Fred Archer's whole life has been one of fishing for his lively hood. And that right there deserves respect!
If you have not already done so, and knowing the class act that you are you might have told Fred that he does not have to pay for a banner.
I would like to pay for the first two months of the cost of Captain Archer's banner.
It is the RIGHT THING FOR ME TO DO!!! You know how to get a hold of me just let me know how I can get you the funds and how much!!!

One of your very happy members!!!!!!!!

Captain Fred, Spreader Bar Fred, our friend Fred.

He has opened up many new ways and techniques.

He contines to educate us and for that I thank him.

If we don't agree with something let's just take the high road and go onto the next thread

I have very recently joined the site, in large part because I found the overall site positive and informative, and a lot fo that came from reading Archer's posts. For a relative offshore newbie they contain a lot of good observations and thoughts to consider. Thanks for running a great site and thanks Fred Archer for the posts

Like everyone else, I am glad that Fred posts up on the site. Sometimes I don't have time to read them, as they are lengthy and detailed, but I don't see them as being something that we shouldn't have here. I enjoy reading differing opinions, as there is seldom one way to do anything. Keep it up Fred!
