trucking it is gonna take you 2 easy days of driving (or 1 hard one)... Boating it will take you a minimum of 4 - if you get lucky on the weather. If you wind up in the ditch, it will take you a lot longer.

Close but its a fountain?

I have done 28 knt Sport fisherman in 4 days. Pick the first couple days by regional weather and your there.50 mph x12 hrs=600miles x 2 days runing and one night sleeping and eating.

Took a 31 albemarle from Key West to Cape May about 15 yrs ago. It is an experience I did it in March so wether became an issue took us 5 1/2 days with only 2 1/12 days running outfront. We had to take ICW most of the way from Miami to Cape Canaveral. Secenery was beautiful in ICW would do it again when kids get older and have more time to stop at those little neat marinas/resturants along the way.

I've done Hatteras to Ft. Lauderdale a few times each way. It takes 3 days with good weather. That's cruising at 28-30 kts. One time it took 11 days with bad weather and boat problems. I imagine Cape May to Miami would be 4 days with good weather, but in a Fountain, maybe a day or 2 less? When the weather's bad and you have to go inside it sucks. Especially the further south you get with all the manatee zones. It can easily double or triple the time of the trip.

The stops were:

Hatteras to Charleston
Charleston to St. Augustine
St. Augustine to Ft. Lauderdale

Thats about right. only from capemay to morehead at 28 knts would ad a day. At 50+ mph the only problemm is how many fuel stops on a full tank for a days run! Rugman give us your range and we can advise a little better! Hey I got some free time and would seem fun to blast down if the weather was right?
