Fished in the blazing heat of the afternoon with Mrs. BrothaBob and the Monkey. Since the back bay was pretty much like the Garden State Parkway on a Sunday night, I decided to head out front and found pretty calm seas.

We first made our way out to Wildwood Reef. Since we never fished there before it was a good as spot as any. Dropped the first line and while setting up the second, the first line pops off....a decent skate but still nice to catch SOMETHING. Got the skat off and dropped all four lines in the water. Spent the better half of the drift catching and releasing Skates and Sea Robins. After about 8 Junk Fish, we caught our first flounder of the year!!!! It was JUST short so she made her way back in for another day but it was nice to finally have one in the boat.

We decided to head out a little further after things started slowing down and made it out to Five Fathom Bank (I think). We dropped lines and within a few minutes brought a couple of Sea Robins and a skate in but at least something was biting. The action slowed down and after 20 minutes or so without a bite we checked the baits to find them all gone. Reloaded...Stripped......Reloaded......Stripped........This went on for 20 more minutes and then the flies rolled in.......Monkey and I both screamed Uncle to the flies and called it a day.

It was really just a great day to be fishing.
