Any word on what happened here? Commercial boat I presume?
I hope all are found and make a speedy recovery.
This is the reason that I wanted SPOT tracking devices in the ditch bag. If each one of these guys grabbed one when they put there survival suits on, they would know excatly where they are.
We have been thinking of getting those too, you would be damn glad you had them if anything ever happened.
I found these photos of the Lady Mary (I am assuming it's the same boat) that a friend took last summer on our way out for BFT.
My thoughts are certainly with the remaining crew members. Very sad news.
thats the one....pitch bait you are right about those tracking device......they are a god sent - and could save lives!
That isn't a little boat. I hope they find the rest of the crew.
we have the epirb and the spot. I hope they find them... please guys take this stuff to heart .. everything you can do to dye packs, spots, red steamers, cylume sticks, anything or anyway you can go over your saftey stuff together is a plus. we are just a tiny little spot on the sea for the coast gaurd or any other boats. the spots work great also my buddy emailed me all my real good bottom spots from his spot the other day just to mess with me. I hope the best for the families..
Thoughts and prayers go out to the men and their families.
We tested the SPOT in Panama, the system works great. I wouldn't use it as replacement for an Epirb, but it is a great supplement. One good use is, as part of the float plan to let friends know when you move. Another suggestion we've been giving our customers is to add your marina, to you the contact list, so if you needed non emergency help, they would get your info and pass it along. Also, I did hear that one of the towing companies is now working with SPOT.
The news reported 2 dead this afternoon.
Thoughts are with the family and friends in Cape May and other ports. May they find the rest of the crew safe.
