California Proposion 9 - Legalize Marijuana

Not only will the Democrats and Republicans fight it out on November 2nd, but also, a very important ballot proposition will be in play in California, proposition 9 which intends to essentially legalize marijuana.

This ballot initiative is also important to all border states, including Texas. How?

Well, because if California legalized marijuana Mexico has said it might cease enforcing its drug laws against marijuana. That would break the border wide open with all sorts of drugs coming though Mexico virtually unimpeded. It could be really serious down here as drug violence is already in epidemic proportions.

So, what happens in California can easily affect lots of changes in other states.

What do you folks think of Proposition 9?

I think it will considerably decrease demand for Mexican marijuana and make smuggling less profitable for the drug cartels.

The drug cartels have REALLY become a scourge in Mexico and I support anything that will make them less powerful.

Legalize it, Put a tax stamp on it, Create enforceable laws around it and quit filling our jails, and quit the drug related violence...

I don't smoke - Never have, but it is crazy to attempt to control a weed that can grow anywhere. The medical facts say that it is not physically addictive. Alcohol is legal - with the tax stamp - do the same thing with pot.

Don't legalize pot. If you do this is all you will think about constantly.

I know this for a fact and personal experience.

Legalize pot - It will be a better stimulus for the snack food and fast food industry than all of the bailouts... Kick start the ecomomy...

First you want to legalize it and then tax it. Then you turn around and say that it grows like a weed every were. How are you going to tax something that is so easily grown?

We have enough problems with alcohol.

    Tax Revenue,

Is exactly why they dont legalize it. Its as easy to grow as a tomato plant, plus pot heads are known for being cheap. Who really thinks their going to buy it? Everyone will grow it, the govt knows this and they wont get nearly the tax that people think they will. That is why they dont legalize it.
However, if they pass new laws about tokin and driving.......you got a new revenue source there my friend.

    ps, zummie....that is some video!
