I'm not gonna get into a discussion about head count at the rally. I'm not gonna debate the authenticity of all the data in the now well publicised ESPN piece... I will say though that for the very first time since this administration started squeezing the life out of fishermen I'm starting to see some wiggle in the public world awareness of our issues.
It started with a quick blurb here and there about the up comming rally. Local coverage was limited on the rally itself. Then bit by bit our cause is getting more and more airplay. Our senator LaMieuxgetting more and more views of the videos of him head butting with Ms. Lubchenco. A few more news snippets popping in here and there. Glenn Beck starting to make a statement or two on this subject. Newspapers climbing on board now with both pro and con pieces. At least it brings the debate public.
I even heard a fairly brisk debate on a normally left leaning radio talk show. At first the on air team was taken back that "their side in Washington " would "never" move the direction they are. As the caller spoke and filled in the details you could hear the broadcasters not only soften their tone but actually express outrage at their own party's actions. More callers jumped on board and that topic grew.
I've read responses from the powers that be about the ESPN article. I consider their responses canned and basically bravo sierra but at least we have their attention that the shit stew they're brewin is about to boil over.
So ... Good to hear this topic finally escaping the bounds of our little world.![]()
