Cabo 45 Express... Lets hear it...
I'm in a time crunch... Boss is looking at one... I need info from those in the know.
I need any input you got. Posititives, negatives, ride, fit, finish, thoughts, even rumors... Bring em on...
Its one of the models we have on the short list for an interim boat. Some models I have a feel for and some even extensive knowledge of. I know some about Cabo and fished on a few but not the 45 express...

the 45 with red led under gunnel lights ...
they look cool as anything after she is shammy'd down and the rum cups come out at night! (especially with red leds and get some isen glass to a/c the express topside!) we have fished one a bunch and like all cabo's there is a 'wet range' (just past wahoo speed and just under cruise).. that is wet but you can clean your glasses and grab your water and it's up on top n running and dry again...! nice boats easy to run and if you get the freezer plates or an ice maker in her you should never have to have but 1 first class bait box on the deck! cabo builds a really nice boat! easy to clean and a nice engine room

Sit down Shut up And fish
Cabo makes a great boat. The 45 has a generous amount of cockpit space and nice room on the bridge. Get a sound shield for the genset if it does not come with one, huge difference. Opt for the I/O carpet inserts on the bridge for keeping your feet happy.
Good: Wiring and mechanical space is top notch with plenty of room to get in and fix things. Switches, valves and controls are clearly labeled. Every available space is taken up with some type of storage. The head is super easy to clean, just spray it down and chamois dry.
Bad: Molded diamond non-skid, ***** to clean or repair and is rough on the knees. Macerator pumps for the in-deck fish boxes are only accessed by pulling the tubs out, tubs are screwed and sealed. In rough seas you have to use plenty of tab and it makes for a wet (but not rough) ride. Tad bit slow for such a light boat, only 36.8kts with the 1100hp MANs.
I really like the boat and it can raise some fish. Have had the pleasure to run several 35s and one 45. They are simple, clean and a pleasure to take care of. Good luck with the purchase.

we went to the diaphram pumps for the fish box...
seen tham at the boat show after we installed the freezer plates in the fish box they pass pencils, rags and nuts and screws through the pump.. the carpet in the express would be a very good choice . may cut down on people laughing at you when ya bust your ass going to the aft deck also..

Ran one with 800hp Manns. Topped out around 35 knots with easy 30 knot cruise- I thought it was good speed for 45 ft. boat. Beautiful boat, not the best ride in rough seas.
