Squid I would love to see the machining process to give the "perfect visual aquity" it is a crock. You paid for the whole thing. If i break one lens and you charge me for two I want the the other one back. I paid for it. I believe this just decreases turn around time by giving you a new pair instead of taking the time to change the lens. The labor to do this costs about what the new glasses cost. They then take your old lens and recycle it. Bad for the customer good for them. Heck Costa doesn't even make the lenses. They have another company make them. This info is from a costa manager. Like I said before I have broken my lenses twice on my fathoms. The frames flex too much allowing the glass the flex and break. The frames that hold the lenses need to be stiffer. I will NEVER buy another pair. For a good 125 dollar pair with 4 different lenses and $30 for a new pair no matter what happens go with native or for great lenses and better service maui. Good luck with the company but you won't get my money again.

call me cheap ! ..not deep cheap

I do not work on or near the water 350 a year. 180$ and up for sun glasses. I have many friends that wear the costa glasses. All have told me the same thing. Break them and you get a new pair....I break sunglasses to often to deal with a mail order service plan, I told them. None have had the glasses replaced or fixed with out a nominal cost. Again. The sales pitch was if anything breaks. Then later when I questioned them about the cost of repair, it was, man how do you think a company can stay in business doing that, and justified paying the cost after being told otherwise in the initial purchase of the glasses. I guess half the price for a refurbished pair was justified. To this day I still break or damage sunglasses regularly, even reading glasses too !

Give me walmart reading glasses and sea striker sunglasses and I am justified clumsy I guess.....180$ and up Hell I ain't that good of a fishermen

Guys, I apologize for all the miscommunication. I am in no way trying to bash anyone here...just trying to explain things. I have only been a part of them for a matter of months so please don't take it out on me either. I understand your frustration and wish I could change the past. I am not familiar with what their warranty used to be, only what it is now. Again, I am sorry if you feel like you were lied to. I'm sorry if my comments came across wrong. Best of luck with whatever glasses you wear from here on.

fisheyed, although I don't know what makes a "matched pair of lenses", I have seen in person the two ladies who sit in front of a machine and line up the polarization in each pair of lenses before they are cut (in the factory) and hand placed in the frames. Again, I don't know the logistics of all of this, just am stating the facts so please don't take out anything on me.

    Tight lines!

Please don't take what I said as a personal shot either... Its Costa and SOME of their reps that I have the issue with. As recently as the Lauderdale show this year, I saw a vendor giving the same speech as I had been coached to give just a few years ago. Especially the part if ANY thing happens... I actually know the guy from shows pretty well and he will get a full updating when I see him again...
