Never been to a broadway show and I am gonna take Jen and Nico for her birthday. Do you buy tickets from a brokerage, theater, hotel. You can give me some advice on this.

Bill buy them before you go. No one buys them there. Its probably already sold out before you even get there. Some shows like Jersey Boys are sold out well in advance.
Alright, truth be told, I have been to 2 shows.........La cage a foi........I had no idea what it was about but I wanted to leave. I dont mind gay but jeeezus! Talk about some flamin dudes, especially the black guy. Man does he have daddy issues. The lead guy did win a Tony for his part which was well deserved, he was excellent, and no not gay. My sister got tickets and we went as a family for my mothers 80th birthday. Kelsey Grammar was in it and since then is out of his marriage and in something else.
Now, I also saw Jersey Boys.........Its OK I guess. Never a big fan of Frankie Vallie and the sliding across the stage to start every song. Looking around everyone was older and I guess had an association with the music that I missed.
Now the best part Bill........Be prepared to sit in the smallest theater seat you have ever sat in. A toilet in a 23 ft center console has more room. Tell your wife not to wear a dress unless she wants the guy sitting in front of her to turn around and stare between her knees. Im a big guy, 6'6" 260 lbs, I thought I would go crazy sitting there. I literall had no where to put my legs not to mention the theater ass I had when the show was over. Tickets are expensive, its uncomfortable, at intermission there is a line for the mens room that you wont believe, other than that.....Have Fun!![]()

Alex - I was actually prepared for all of the above. but you could have lied to me and told me it was gonna be great that way I didn't have to suffer from now until the show. I would have just cursed you once at the show. Thanks buddy. But I guess I have made her jig for rockfish in 20 degree weather, fished venezuela pregenant in a 36 topaz with 6 fters etc. I can take a tight squeeze in a seat so long as I don't fart and shoot myself through the roof.
260 lb's????? Whoa there Bubba, you're not just tall !!!!!!You must have big bones!!! Frank
There is a line of people that forms in Times Square around 12PM the day of the show. You can get tickets for half price but it's risky. You may not get tickets at all if you're not first in line and you'll have to wait for hours in the cold. Bite the bullet and get tickets ahead of time either by ordering over the phone from the theater, broadway.com, ticketmaster, or going to the box office far in advance. Check all of them for prices because there is a difference. Be prepared to pay $125 per seat and it is tight seating as mentioned. Hint: use a scarf to tie your knees together when you're seated. Much more comfortable that way. Dinner and a show for 3 people will run you about the same as an inshore 1/2 day trip, roughly $600 not counting getting to and staying in NY. The total will be well over $1000. I can do 2 canyon trips for that (but not in January).
It's really not as bad as they are making it out to be.... A little culture won't kill ya.
Your going to have a great meal (it is NYC' with the best restaurants in the world)... your going to make the wife happy.... if you play your cards right and get seats up close.... you could see some hot women on the stage in skimpy clothing.
As far as were to get tickets.... I believe ticket master sells most of the shows and if you cant get the seat location and /or the date you want, then try places like stub hub.
Better she wants do this in the winter then in the summer....
Ditto all of the above. If you want to see that specific show buy the tickets in advance. I think I used Ticketmaster when I bought the tix as a gift for the wife. We were in the fifth or sixth row, and I didn't have the usual problems fitting in the seats so maybe they're bigger in that theater or the more you pay the bigger the seat.
As far as culture... I would rather put a pencil in my eye than go to a Broadway show, especially a musical. Dealing with NYC and the traveling, never mind the price of everything just flat out sucks.
That being said, I would go see Wicked again.
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
Sushi - Koi at the Bryant Park Hotel. Pretty damn good!
