    BP oil spill fix ???

This spill is a total disgrace !! I dont get it ?
Is it not possible to send down some kind of hydrolic tool, kinda like the jaws of life and just pinch off the pipe ????
From my understanding, the pipe is something like 5 inches or so round ??
why cant it be pinched off ?? kinda like a garden hose ??????
or just lower with a crane a very large piece of cement and lay it on top. This would allow time to have the other well dug and shut down.

    thoughts ??????

Your a genius, hurry get on the phone and call BP and tell them to send down a "hydrolic" tool to just pinch off the pipe, Birlliant, I wonder how they have not thought of that!

my wife, my kids, my practice.

    Leak could be fixed

In the pipe trades we used couplers that we could weld to the outside of the pipe then drill out the center to allow water to flow through. If BP welded a fitting to the pipe, upstream of the leak and applied a new outlet fitting for the oil and gas, then take a heavy duty balloon and insert it in the break and blow it up to seal the break, it would force the oil up the new fitting. The bags used to lift huge submerged vessels should withstand the pressures at 5,000 ft deep. Or insert the bag and expand it, then cover the entire area with concrete.

I think it would work, but maybe a "Junk" fix that BP is proposing will allow BP to get rid of all the old truck tires at their main plant. Who knows?

BP better do something right pretty soon or there will be no fish left to catch in the Gulf. But that would put alot of boats on the market since there wouldn't be a use for them in the south? Just a thot

here's something to think about..the new estimate puts 5000 million barrels since this started..our consumption is 20 million a day, 1 well has that much capacity...and there's like what 40 deep water rigs, owned by US company's..why do we import so much,if we have so much?

hydrolic isnt the same as hydrology..its newer technology..

how about this --- we send you down 5000+ feet with a snorkel and you could wrap your lips around that broken pipe and since you like to swallow - well............ you can figure out the rest.
The bonus ---- no need for lube..............

    Sincerely, Mr. GeniusTide.
