    Bought a motorcycle today...

yep, a slight "shift" in the lifestyle. Been wanting one for years and now I said what the heck... I do think I got a good deal as this is the type bike I was looking for from a comfort and performance standpoint (plus the price made it even more appealing). So, I now have my 40-50 mpg commuter.

You bike guys, what should I keep an eye on mechanically?

follow routine maintenance per manual......and MOST importantly..keep good rubber (tires) on bike for traction and grip......and of course...what out for the other drivers who never see bikes until its to late.

Man that makes me miss mine- I had a 929 and sold it last year. There is nothing like going for a good twist.

Like Dougie said- it's a Honda dude, and besides routine maintenance, there isn't anything that you're going to have to do.

    Good luck, and be safe

Its a Honda...just get on it and ride! Its got the old 900rr motor on it which is virtually bulletproof. I know guys who have 900rr's with 60k in miles on them.

Go grab yourself a nice Arai, Vanson Jacket, boots, Held Gloves, and enjoy!

    I have a 2004 Kawasaki ZX-10R myself. 6k in miles.

Man am I jealous- I've owned a few bikes and that was by far the best powered/balanced bike I've ever had the pleasure of riding on.

what color was yours mine is black and yellow!and it is very well balanced.I have also ridden bikes my whole life including mostly suzuki's and this by far is the nicest most comfortable in its class.I did 173mph on it once that was enough for me! It stays mostly in my garage now adays.

Mine was the red/black. It had a Euro tail and it was piped out. Smoked black screen, corbin seat, low profile lights, chrome wheels...damn I miss that thing
