Bohemia Bay Yacht Harbour Roof Collapse

I made it down to the Bohemia Bay Yacht Harbour and shot a little video of the damage from the roof collapse. It is an ugly sight down there, very sad. They are clearing debris daily so I will try to get back down in a couple days.

Very sad indeed, I sure that the pictures and the video can not do justice to what it looks like in person...

There were a few people around Saturday morning when I was there and it was like a funeral down there. People were just shaking their heads and not really saying anything. I hope to get there when the rest of the scrap is off the boats before they start to salvage them. Those pics will probably leave most of us speechless and if another roof happens to go, I can't even imagine what that would be like.

    anguish ...

a former coworkers boat is sittin on the bottom underneath all that roofing ... total loss at this point, may be able to salvage teak deck chairs and perhaps some tools but that's about it. good time to go boat shopping though! always a bright side, noone injured but still a bitter pill to swallow

I saw the after effects of GYB shed collapse. My daughters grandma lives in Georgetown and Manatee (old trumpy) - guy that's surveying the damage said most likely between 100 to 200,000 in damage. This boat was meticulously restored and maintained.

A lot of people shopping for deals until they realize that their policies pay "ACV" instead of Stated... And the fine print in the policy states something like "haul or head south" in the winter...

ACV versus agreed value policies make a HUGE difference. And the fine print or the acceptance letter do as well. Alot of people do not read the part of the letter that says policy goes into effect when A,B,C,D, and E from the survey are corrected.

Hope these people had their ducks in a row. Ashame to see so many boats damaged- and with more snow on the way- yuck!!
