Wow, not a good day for that captain. At first I thought someone was a sleep at the wheel but at the beginning of the clip you can see the bridge lowering.

That had to be the bridge master's fault. Those ships take like a mile or so to stop. Crazy video. As a fireman I would like to see tat boat about 20 minutes later. Big Fire!!!!!

Let me guess here......
I'm thinking that happened at the railroad bridge that is on the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal. That bridge has been rammed before by shipping. The previous time was in fog. I saw a copy of the newspaper article framed at Schaeffer's Canal House in Chesapeake City.
I hope no one was injured in that accident.

That particular hit occured at the Welland Canal lift bridge a few years back. The man at the wheel had been there on two consecutive watches and was tired. He has since been found guilty of negligence and fired. Damage was substantial as you can easily see by these filed reports:
