    BOAT PRICING????????

    I was sitting here thinking as I looked @ that beautiful 30' WINTER CC

    why is boat pricing always a seacret?

    It seems especially NC boats, that the price is always a mystery. I own a contender and trying to get a price was very diffucult (at least one that made any sense)

    Why would the builder or manufacturer want to put there pricing out there?
    Even the car manufacturers put there MSRP out there..

    Ya Lee , I hear ya but it is was the same s h i t when i bought my boat.....

    seems to me it a builder looking to make all the money on changes...shouldnt there be a base price??

    just dont understand the mystery...

    and cost. Cost to the builder is also ever fluctuating.

    Builders don't want you to know what the real cost of the boat is until they "Fluff" it up with all the "Options" they are willing to throw in to make you happy, when in fact their retail price is already overinflated and you get ripped for more than the boat is really worth.

    In this economy, if anyone pays full retail for a new boat, you need to have your head examined. Builders prices have been out of control for many years and you can negotiate the retail prices. If builders won't negotiate then let them know you will walk and find a builder who would really like your business. That's my 2 cents

    Builders who will not negotiate will probably not be around next year so those valuable warranties we get handed will be worth nothing. Keep that in mind when dealing with a builder.

    I feel bad for that sucker, never in a million years have I personally sold a boat a retail.

    We give out retail pricing so when that person gets serious on buying there is actually room to negotiate ... Lot of people spend a lot of time kicking tires and do nothing but be a el cheapo looking for that steal of deal. Some people find a deal of a lifetime and still continue on kicking tires, I think they find shopping fun and have nothing better to do. Since I have the cost sheets and dealer pricing on the boats and the retail sheets that customers see, the pricing given actually is averagely fair.

    I will speak on Contenders since I have built many for many different styles of fishing and fishermen and they were 150% custom boats for their needs..

    Contender build sheets /order forms are 14 pages long with options to build the boat the way you want it . not the cookie cutters you see as floor models.

    The engines are one page the boat models read left to right and the motor options go top to bottom, then on to navigation, fishing accessories, livewell options and colors, fish boxes insulted or double insulted, length and color of riggers, what color rod holders what angle rod holders, how many rocket launchers, what kind of leaning post, what kind of livewell pumps how many livewell pumps do you want back up pumps. How many batteries and switches do you want, what kind of top you want, do you want coaming boards, florida boys usually don't NC dealer has them done after market

    There is a lot to these boats and its not just contenders that some people refuse to understand how

    I can tell you the reason I protected my boat sales and inventory and choose not to blow boats out the back door is . Consumer protection if I blew out A B C D boat at 4 different prices it creates an unstable resale market and many dealers have fell victim of the back door deals and you get what you see now ..

    Thats reverse math.....protecting resale..lmao.....what resale???? I am sure glad I found the BACK DOOR and saved 50k.....

    There has to be a base price even on a contender....the dealer just doent want you to know it....
