i always like the somewhat offensive names that confuse the hell out of the bridge operators...........nothing like making people laugh.

he told me he was going to change it. i took him at his word, and i dont see why he would want MY name. after all, most people are offended by that name. not enough education, or life experience i guess. its funny though as i went to get a vanity plate for my truck years ago. Hubris of course. this woman from harrisburg calls me and says......its taken! well she took the time to look it up, and was very amused. so, i took the next two plates. Hubris 1 and Hubris 2. one of these days im going to be driving down the road, minding my own business and here he comes. Hubris i will probably be forced to drive him off the road just because. teddy, i got a boat name for you. its greek of course, no one has it and all you gotta do is live up to it. as a side note, all names with the word "REEL" in them. well lets just say, expand your horizons......moron.

I had a friend sell a boat and put into the contract the name needed to be changed. The boat was going to P-town MA and the 2 guys never changed the name. He was pissed.

I swear to god its a true story. I use to fish out of Montauk and was friends with the owners of the boat. I'm not going to say the boat name but its a Briggs express and its currently for sale(look in Marlin Mag.). I heard the owners like to fly the rainbow flag off the riggers and wear speedos on deck. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Well there kind of is.

You know this is a good question that was brought up....Unfortunatly with so many boats out there and so many fishing vessels it seems all the names have been used, and even when you come up with a great name it seems there is always some one down in a neighboring marina taking your name!

I am still deciding on a name that is unique and not taken by others, i research the name that i came up with before, and so far the top 10 names i came up with are already in use by some captains up and down the east coast.

My fathers named his hatteras with another language. no one knows what it means but its unique as all hell!

Another problem i noticed is some websites spin off any boats name that won a tournament or is in the spot light....Maybe there is a way by copy write laws.

Never name a boat after your wife or girlfriend especially if it is a charter rig. After a divorce you have to redocument the boat, redo all paperwork, insurance, rename your business, change the names on all of your pfd's and throwables just to get rid of her name and hope your customers remember your name and not just your boats name from their last trip.

That's assuming you get to keep the boat!!

I've yet to see another Hall N Ass ... Guess there ain't many people with the last name Hall that are into fishin. Were still trying to find out who's the ass the girls say it's the guys say it's the girls. My girl says its me
