Blue Marlin hits a man in Brazil

A 44 year old man was swimming next to the fish market in Matinhos, Paraná, Brazil when he was hit by a 6 feet 88lbs blue marlin. The fish hit the man's knee and a a small surgery had to be done to remove part of the bill.

When the fish attacked him it was jumping around and 3 men stopped the fish so it would not hit other people

It happened 4 weeks ago (February 2nd, 2008)

    Jer,
Your going to have to get you a Hatteras Heaver, so you can cast out past the catfish. There's a marlin waiting for you.

I was thinking you could cast out a spreader bar and reel it back at 3-3.5 knots

This guy i fished with who now works for reel adventures.....his name is Robert Arrington...used to captain the REEL JUSTICE out of Los Suenos
is probably one of the craziest guys i had the pleasure of meeting....(well besides some extended family in regards to the craziest comment, my last name is a dead giveaway).......

he now does underwater filming and was filming life feeding all balled up under some structure. and this blue marlin came at him, defending his food.and it eventually got to the point where it was kill or be killed..he had to spear it to save his own life......CHECK OUT THE PICS!

Poor fish swiming along minding its own business and some guy attacks it with his knee!
Ok I know the part where they took the guy to get fixed and get the bill out of his knee... But.... Did they take the fish to the fish hospital to get the knee off its bill too? That would only be fair.

    Brazillians...

Never tried rigging one before. Wonder how they'd work better with a circle hook? Bridled to the nose? Sewn to the forehead?
