Of course if you don't use Bart's and you don't catch many blues it is easy to see why you wouldn't be high on them.

    On the other hand...

They're the best. Why do you think they're the most copied?

Black Bart Lures are excellent in every aspect and the people behind the company are even better. Of the 300 or so suppliers I deal with, Black Bart Lure Co. is one of my favorites. Top notch all the way.

Their lures are very productive and the quality is unreal.

Does anybody really care what lure it is ???

Seems to me that it’s all speculation. Does that make it relevant? Doubt it !!!

Take a #2 lead pencil with some treble hooks on it to a farm pond and I’ll bet you’ll catch Bass on it.

I sent a large bullet head to a friend in Hawaii a while back and asked him to let me know how it worked in the calm waters around Kona. My friend said he wanted to save it for when the Tuna arrived but that he’d give it a run or two during the off season and get back to me.

Get back to me he did. That ugly stupid piece of crap lure took a 672 pounder during the off season while my buddy and a friend were screwin around. Go figure !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rule of thumb; if the line goes tight and the reel screams it’s a good day.

Bart lures. Quality product at a reasonable price.

No argument on, if you are there at the right time anything you pull behind you may get hit.
However, what happens when the man feels lazy and watches your boat and spread go by?
IMO for those days, is the action of the lure (assuming you fish it right), the position of the lure and the whole spread as a SYSTEM that makes the difference.
On my boat when I pull all lures, I pull all BBs or all Pakulas. Each lure has been made to have a specific position in the spread and complement the rest of the spread.
My point here is there is more to just putting a lure in the water and put the boat in gear.
People like Bart Miller have studied the sport and developed these designs; when you pay your $60+ you get a top quality product together with a glimpse of how you are supposed to fish this thing. Not every lure manufacturer offers this.
As I said before, lure fishing is more than just pulling 6 lbs of plastic behind your boat.

    Seeing is believing

I had a friend fishing on the Lori A, the day the released that huge Blue last summer. Ask him if they work on not. Lori A released I think 9 blues last summer. Thats a decent season for the NE blue marlin fishery.

If you only troll one black bart in a 7 or 8 bait spread then the chances of catching a fish on the lure are 1 and 7or8.

Plus I dont know about most guys but when on the Marlin Magic we usually dont pull black barts while marlin fishing in the mid Atlantic because we are usually are bait fishing at 4.5 to 6 knots with our trolling valves on. for me barts dont really look very good at low speeds like we usually marlin fish. we do lure fish everyonce in a while and we do use Bart and Pakulas mostly, but we are hauling ass 6.5 knots+ and we have got bites and caught fish. At that speed they look much better and I think many Black Barts are made to work at higher speeds while targeting mostly blue marlins.

My point is that if your trolling for tuna or what ever, and put just one black bart or any other high priced lures out there and expect to catch a marlin because of that lure, you are dreaming.

Try trolling an entire spread with them and fish them the way they are designed to be fished. I think your opinion might change
