Can someone do a video outlining how a Bimini Twist is tied?

Excellent request man. This is something ive been whanting to learn forever!![]()
I know this isn't what you asked for but the twist is very easy once you've done it a few times.
Forget the sitten down, spreading the knees stuff you always see.
Put your rod in a rod holder, double the line, and twist 21 turns. Leave a tag end of about 10 inches or so. place loop around reel handle and tighten line on reel (so there is tension). Hold the tag end tight w/ one hand and place other hand in opening of loop. Pull down slowly and evenly w/ tag end keeping constant pressure with other hand that is in the loop ( you may even want to move the hand in the loop up as you pull and twist the line down). The line will twist down on itself nice and neat. when twisted line is all the way back down at the bottom of the open loop (next to your hand), hold very tight and tie a half hitch around one of the legs of the loop. Finish off with a clinch not or 3 wrap uni, just to keep it from unraveling.
It's easier to learn with Spectra or dacron, as it is much easier than with heavy mono. Then do the mono.
This is your basic, there are variations on finishing the twist off.
Here's a step by step with a little different finishing:

FWIW I usualy do 21 turns but was recently told that 7-11 are as strong
I think more is better my-self
I hope some one does a vid
Another vote for a video. Pix speak a thousand words. Better for me to learn by watching than reading.

Man...I wish I would have taped Gus this summer...would have been perfect to some bob marley playing...
I'll have a video up tonight. Bimini, Spider Hitch and, I'n my most humble opinion the knot that you should be using![]()
