    A Billion

20 Billion in arms to the Saudis... NOT millions were talking Billions....
I don't get it.... and New Orleans is still not rebuilt...... I love this country, but it seems our priorities are not in order!

    1. One billion seconds ago it was 1974

    2. One billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

    3. A billion hours ago we were in the stone age.

    4. A billion days ago no one walked on earth on two feet.

    5. A billion dollars ago was 8 hour and 20 minutes, at the rate our country is pending it.

And I still have to press 1 to speak in English!

Ron i believe that this country is obsessed with pissing money away to help everyone but its own people. Like you said what about the people in need that live right here, we can burn thousands of gallons of jet fuel to fly millions of pounds of food to africa and the middle east while people in this country need food, jobs and housing just figure what we could have better used that money for. Hell i guess it's like going to prison we just fatten up these third world countries arm them then wait for them to try and kick our asses down the road. Damn we need some leadership and ALOT less corruption in the gov't.

    I believe it's a SALE, not a GIVE

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I don't know enough about the details to say if it's good or bad but it does sound like we are selling them the arms not giving. They'd find another place to buy it so I suppose I'd rather see us with some control in the transaction.

The bigger problem here is the billions were overpaying for Oil. That money is pouring out of our country and into the middle east and it's all profit. It still costs them almost the same to produce a barrel...less than $10.

Hearing the traders in Chicago call it a good day on the oil market when the price goes up another 10% makes me ill. This bubble too shall pass but all the speculation and hype is hitting our country and most individuals too hard.

Most of our oil doesn't come from the middle east. We do get a lot from Saudi Arabia But we get more from Canada. Here is a report showing where our oil comes from. Its pretty interesting. But even though we don't get it from them they still control the worldwide prices.

Oil futures in the U.S. are primarily traded in New York at the New York Mercantile Exchange. However, electronic marketplaces have become the standard these days, so the location is really cyberspace. As a rule commodity traders don't really care if the market is up or down as their only concern is to be on the right side of the move.
