Whitey I prospect with the flats and we dump them no father than the rigger baits and get the most bites somewhere in between, we are fishing 4 lines in these sail tournys 2 flat 2 rigger so we don't have to worry about the short rigger baits fouling while dumping the flats, does this make sense? and yes we get the occasional bite off the dredges too.

It depends on the situation and how many fish are in the area. Lots of bait marks and fish marks, then we do prospect a good bit. When we are just searching, no. Anytime I mark a suspicious mark and put her in a turn, then we prospect and have had good results. Its boring and tedious and repetative for the guy doin it, but it pays off every once and a while and every fish is important.

SeaMent, I have done it a few time but never had any bites on it. After a half hour or so I lose my patience and give up.
Hey where is JMS at wonder what he thinks about that bet you will see him standing back there all day rod in hand changing out that bait every 30 or less. Whitey i was waiting for you to chime in on that topic.
