    BF Goodrich All-Terrain

i have a 2006 king ranch f250 fx4. i haul boats ranging from 18 foot to 36 on a regular basis. i am looking to up my tire size from it current 265/70R/18 to a 33 or so inch BF All-terrain. any good bad or ugly experiences with these tires on a F250 or the like trucks. i have had truck in the past so i know about the road noise and all that good stuff but how do they hold up when under a load....

    thanks

Had a 2000 f-250 4x4 crew cab with the 7.3. Best tires I ever put on it was the BFG AT's. Tried something different, once, and immediately went back to them.

I had 35x12.50's on 16.5" weld wheels. The truck had 4" lift.

The larger size might work once you mount them and set the truck on the ground, but take it in a full lock turn and try going over a curb... that is when you'll know if they will work in the real world (less serious off-roading)

Never had one, I was a lineman.
I've got 31x10.50's on my Jeep and they're excellent. I'm thinking about putting some on my F-150. They're not noisy at all in my experience and are excellent in the sand.

I have a F-350 and a chevy 2500HD with them, best tires you can buy; anything less and you are wasting your money, trust me-been there.

    Quack,
I've been running BFG's on the last 3 F-250's and current F-350. Been getting 55-65K with proper care/rotate @ 5k. BFG is a large player in the Baja race game and there R&D is top notch.

As for the MT's, they are great if you need that large of a lug for the slick stuff but loud and poor performer on pavement.

Edit to add: 33's will be a bit tight in the 250 wheel well but doable.

Loud on the street, they wear faster, and aren't really needed in most applications.

The All Terrains are great tires. We've had them on a F-250 for all 250k miles of it's life. 33x12.50x16.5. From what I understand, the 16.5's are being phased out.

Make sure you take care of the front end, and the truck will treat you well.

I've got 'em on my f-250, love them. 305/70/r16 on the stock rims. getting really good mileage out of them, had 'em on for about 30K and not even to half tread yet. not noisy at all and good traction for when you need to lock the front in. I've run firestone A/Ts and goodyear AT/S tires, didnt get near as good life out of them. the truck even rode better when I put the BFG's on, the BFG/ATs have a stiffer shoulder block on the tread, giving it a much more positive ride without wandering in ruts. They should give you excellent traction on slick ramps, just dont be afraid to put in 4wd when they start spinning.

and i've had no issues with rubbing except for at full lock over bumps, and my 305's come out to just shy of 33.2". stock truck, no lift
