The best thing you can do

OK so the bail out is going to happen, but the Senate has tacked 300 pages of pork to the bill. I say let them go ahead but in the proccess this I pledge

Join with me please it's important.

I pledge never again to vote for an incumbent in the House or Senate regardless of party.

We can impose term limits if we try.

Bert

If it wasn't so pittyful, it would be funny. The Senate Bill indeed turned into a Christmas Tree.
Perhaps the best is the tax credit for solar water heaters---- what in the hell does this have to do with the sub- prime mortage/banking situation you might ask?
Ask?---- it's the friigging Senate People, no better way to get something you want, no matter how unrelated, in exchange for a yes vote on a critical piece of legislation--- it's the way it works----
We are the loones (voters) that keep this ridiculous practice perpetuating.

This is going to be a stupid question- is there any easy way to know exactly what the other things are that have been added on and by who? It seems to me that using the future health of the country's economy as a bargaining chip is about as low as it gets, and I want to know who not to vote for in the future elections.

Solar water heaters? Huh? Is it just me or does it seem like every opportunity government has to to re-gain our trust recently has ended in disappointment and less trust?

A few of the earmarks stuffed in the bill:

- Film and Television Productions (Sec. 502)
- Wooden Arrows designed for use by children (Sec. 503)
- 6 page package of earmarks for litigants in the 1989 Exxon Valdez incident, Alaska (Sec. 504)

Tax earmark “extenders” in the bailout bill.
- Virgin Island and Puerto Rican Rum (Section 308)
- American Samoa (Sec. 309)
- Mine Rescue Teams (Sec. 310)
- Mine Safety Equipment (Sec. 311)
- Domestic Production Activities in Puerto Rico (Sec. 312)
- Indian Tribes (Sec. 314, 315)
- Railroads (Sec. 316)
- Auto Racing Tracks (317)
- District of Columbia (Sec. 322)
- Wool Research (Sec. 325)

I wish I could find who put these and the others in there....
