Best Braid for a spinning Reel

Does anyone have expertise in this area. I have used Power Pro and SpiderWire and Jerry Brown for trolling and swording and deep dropping but I have yet to put it on a spinning reel. I am getting two new Daiwa Emblem Pros that have good drags and decent capacity and am considering spooling them with 50 or 60 lb braid to be used for casting to dolphin, bottom fishing for snapper and grouper and live baiting to striped marlin. The various braids have different textures and coatings and shapes-Some are stiffer and some more limber. Anyone have knowledge and experience in this area? The stuff is expensive so I;d like to get the best stuff for the application the first time.
    Thanks in advance.

I have #50 power pro on all my spinners, from the lightest to the largest and then topshot with a full (usually 30yards) spool of yozuri H.D. pink of the approproate size per rod and reel (#12-#20)and then a floro leader.

I've used 40 and 50Lb. Power Pro for many years surf fishing and I never had a problem with it.

I have heard of guys complaining about unexpected mystery breakages, although I have never had any trouble like that.

I just recently tried Ugly Braid, Shakespeares braided line. I liked it also.

In fact, I think it may cast even a bit smoother. It seems to be a little stiffer and more slick.

The most importtant thing is to ALWAYS make sure the braid is tight and compact on the spool. If you don't, wind knots will kill you.

Every so often throw a big 5 or 6 ounce sinker on and just crank it out there and retrieve it in slow and smooth to keep the line tight.

Hope this helps you a bit.

    hey

I have fireline on 4 of my spinning reels. Be sure not to overload the spool. A must if you fish around boat docks like I do.

i prefer the jerry brown to the power pro the power pro has the waxy coating on it where as the jerry brown doesnt thus making it limper and its white so the color wont bleed out like the power pro

I've always used PowerPro on my spinners and have never had the failure that some folks talk about. I tried a spool of colored JB (because I like it on my 50) for my spinner, and I have to say that I'm very disappointed in it. It is very flat, and seems to always want to spin. I don't know if this is a problem with the colored JB or if I just got a bad batch, but I'm going to go back to the PP.

Power Pro or Spider Wire are hard to beat - never had problems with either... just use that tip of tossing the line with a heavy sinker every now and then to keep the line smooth.

I use power pro on alot of my reels and guide for a living, always remember to wind on a little mono on your reels before loading with any braided line ust enough to lay over the empty spool is enough it is real important so don't forget!!!PEACE

If you have some extra dough sitting around burning a hole in your pocket get the Daiwa Saltiga braid. That stuff is super tough and extremely thin in diameter. Has held its color and strength for well over a year now on my inshore reels. You can find the Samurai in green if you look. Their surf life is marked every so many feet so you know how far your bait is down if you troll. I'm extremely impressed with this lines performance over other braid on the market. It just has a bit more initial cost.
