Saturday night my wife, IC4M and mydelf decided to do a little kayak outing. My wife just wanted to paddle her yak, IC4M had just gotten some new stuff for his yak.... So, my wife volunteered to be my "wing woman" and direct me in order for us to take seperate yks. IC and I armed ourselves with fly rods. (My first time doing this in a kayk by myself.)
To make a long story shoret here, I hooked into a Ray (Though we weren't sure that is what was on my line at first because there were Red tailing around our boats) that took me on a twenty minute ride..... My wing woman trailed me yelling great advice like "go get it honey" and "Woohoo look at him go". Mean while, I'm thinking "Could you give me some helpfull info, like which way is this fish really headed??" (You'd think after 20 years of marriage she'd know what to tell her blind husband.) What a hoot!
Tonight, IC got a little education on the subject. We were fisheng bait this time from the tandem. He hooked into one, this time no doubt about what he had but as you know, he has only started to fish the salt and new to kayaks, SO..... I sat in the front seat listening to him fuss about the fish (He got a little taste of my world because the sun had set.). I sipped a drink, started contempating memories of my life startin from the most recent and working backwards.... I got to the time when I had a fight in the sandbox in Kindergarten when the swivel scraped the side of the yak.....
I know, I know, reporting about catching rays isn't that great of a thing, BUT you guys know the situation we're in, and in a kayak this is kind of fun, so I thougt I'd share!
My wife got a picture of me on the long rod, maybe we can get it up her for you to check out the fun.
