    Question Beagle Doggies?

Since I don't know squat about puppy dogs I figured I'd toss this up to the smartest people I know. SFC people...
Mini has this new thing. She wants a dog. First it was pomeranians and now she has a beagle spotted that she's making me crazy over. Anyone got one or know about em? High or low maintainence? Good with people?

The place she's looking wants $700... seems high but I don't know... Any help?

very high for a pet must be a nice breeder with a good bloodline for hunting. You should find a pet very cheap that would be a great dog.

For that kind of whup I could get a full dress Tiagra, go on a cruise, get new tires for the tackle box , get a laptop with wireless for a year, or a small boat to use in the Jersey Rivers...

Thats what way I'd love to go... Miss "Name Brand" is pretty brutal. I think its a trip to the pound for us. I have always got my cats there and they all have been just great...

Deep beagles are great dogs but very active love to dig dig dig and bark bark bark also love to chew chew chew chew even after puppy hood!!! 700 is tooo much a real quality beagle can easily be had for 4 to 5 bills, like you are thinking take the Missy to the pound and she will fall in love with some poopy drolling pup and all is well less the heavy spending!!! PEACE

OK Deep, I have been around hunting dogs all of my life. And I know that that is not a goal with this pup but since beagles fall into the category I will give this info to you fairly confidently.

Beagles are friendly , funny and affectionate. But they are also very loud and mouthy and they are not very smart or easy to train.

I like Fastwater's suggestion about adopting a pup. It will cost you only the amt to spay or neuter and vaccinate, and she/you ( when Mini heads off to college in a few years this dog will still be living in your house) will love the dog just as much as one you spend a lot of $$ on.
