Seahawk is a great product we use it on all our new boats as well as service boats, you will not be disappointed. Wayne

I went with the Interlux 2000E barrier coat and the Interlux Micron 66 bottom paint. It improved my fuel economy plus I picked up an average of over 1 knot better performance at the same RPM.

Can't comment on the Seahawk products since I've never used them.

No matter what product you use, the real difference is made in the prep work. Make sure that ALL of the old bottom paint if off the hull. Even if you soda blast it (which I did also), I would recommend that you sand the entire hull to an 80 or 60 grit finish. This will give the barrier coat a good smooth surface to bond to.

If you're doing a bottom job, you also may want to consider applying Propspeed to your running gear. This is the first season I've used it and I didn't have any barnacle build up on my running gear all season. It's not cheap, but I believe that it does the same for your running gear as a good bottom job for your hull.

Here's a few links to previuos SFC threads on the same subject...

I've got it on my Whaler and been very happy with it. It is the ablated paint.

I went the same route as JD above... Thats been told to me to be "THE" way to go...
Growth was a non issue down here or in the islands as long as we used the boat frequently. Our slip in Jersey is hell for growth. Last year we had a full carpet of barnacles over night. This year I have watched in the matter of a few days the bottom get dirty but the second we move she gets clean as the minute we hauled last year.
