    Barnacles-Tricks

Don't know about you guys, but we ended up with a lot more barnacles on things after hauling the boat in NE this year. Wondering if you guys have any tricks or solutions for getting the residual completely off the depth sounder transducer surface?

    Thanks,

    Bill

Power washer up close and personal. Have not had it do any damage when I have busted barnacles off the transducer. With a little effort, you should be able to get all of it off.

Thanks, yes did that alright, now I'm left with the little white footprint deposits. I'm going to try some vinegar this weekend, just checking to see if someone had a fix.

    Thanks,

    Bill

This won't help with the barnacles, but next year before you paint and put in add cayanne pepper to your bottom paint, 1 little spice jar per gallon, you can use the cheapest bottom paint you can find add that to it and it will work like that 200$ per gallon paint.

    Rydlyme

I had some positive result with a diluted solution of Rydleyme in a spray bottle. I sprayed the 'ducer in order to remove the "white footprints"...worked well and didn't damage anything, although had some metals change color (brighter)...rinsed well when finished.

OK, I'll give this and the pepper a shot next Spring...is that the correct spelling for Rydleyme?

    Thanks,

    Bill
