My wife is an engineer and she has designed several styles of cookers. I will see what she has in the line of a pig cooker. Attached is a photo of a cooker the her company builds here in Pa.

Whoa!!! Stop the GD bus right now--- ya can't be cooking no pigs on --- oh, it hurts so bad just to see it --- propane. Why don't you yanks just throw the sombitch in a microwave and throw some cheap ass ketchup sauce on it and be done with it.
Now I have a fair amount of patience and am open to many views and lifestyles--- but some things just ain't right.
I'll admitt, us southerners may screw up a clam bake big time, and tend fry way too many foods, but Lord Jesus, please don't f_up a perfectly good pig with propane.

Thanks for the link Paul... a buddy & I were thinking of doing the same thing, building a pig cooker, stuff is little more difficult to locate up here in NJ, especially finding someone with working knowledge of how its should be designed for proper air flow. I was going to visit my brother in Charlotte, said he and his buddies could put one togther in no time for me... its like second nature for them. I was trying avoid an 11 hour ride.

Let me tell you, I grew up about 75 miles SE of Charlotte....you're talking about the heart of barbeque country there.....and the 11 hour drive will be nothing considering the amount of time. money and frustration you'll avoid by having someone build you one that will work the frist time and years to come. Trust an ole' redneck from NC on this one guys.......

Hey hey hey...wait....THIS engineer uses wood & charcoal I hate propane, and only reserve the propane grill for the winter months when I simply can't be firing up the smoker.

Yeh I know it's only a Charbroil, but she blows away any propane POS I think in this second pic you'll notice my propane grill with it's cover ON it lolol....
