Banned from Tea Party Nation Because I asked Leader of TPN (Judson Phillips) Why He would Say...

Remember when I told you I read widely and eschew getting my news from just one source. This is an example.

I get e-mails from TPN pretty regularly. They're a really hateful group but I thought getting on the mailing list would help me understand a bit more about them as they figured so prominently in the recent debt crisis.

Got an e-mail today about the 31 JSOC servicemen who were killed in that shot down helocopter. So, on the invitation of Mr. Phillips I followed the link to Phillips' comments and read his statements advocating support for the military families that lost their servicemembers and other pretty usual (and acceptable, given the circumstances) comments.

But one statement really shocked me. Phillips said, "I would not risk my own life for a million dollars." Then he added something to the effect that servicemen and women do it every day for very little in return.

My response on the associated blog was a quote of his shocking statement followed by comments:

"I wouldn't risk my own life for a million dollars"

Huh?

Why not?

I got banned immediately.

Right wing blowhards and cowards led by a right wing loudmouth who is the very definition of cowardice by his own statements. It's so typical...

...of the loud, unduely proud and minimally endowed right wing of this nation. Sometimes right winger's veils are removed and the liberal coward in them shows through clearly, as in this case.

you should provide the link to the comments section so others can call him on his BS,As with alot of "Constitutionally oriented" groups,The TP started with a great idea..and ended with it being a frigging joke, most,not all, TP's are a farce, locally, one of its "leaders" was arrested for selling bootleg Rosetta stone CD's..really? where I'm from thats called stealing...another crash & burn.

Virtually anyone can get on the site by first registering. You seem to be interested in what I've said there. Why don't you register and find out?

They have this neat little feature that allows you to click on the name of a poster and view all his posting history without having to do a search. Provided they've not deleted my posts you can read them all...unless you're just a blow hard.

But if the have deleted them my most persistent message was that the Tea Party didn't need a patron in the form of the Republican Party to survive. The Tea Party had the opportunity to be a true populist third party firmly fixed in the defense of the middle class. So, forget all the anti-left and pro-right stuff but focur on being stalward defenders of the middle, instead.

I also said that patrons tend to coopt. Absolutely true.

Ever hear that sort of stuff before from me? Sure you have...right here...perhaps scores of times.

While you're there why don't you find Phillips' statement that I quoted above and post it here? Even if they deleted all my posts they surely left his as it was as modifying it or deleting it would be a form of admission that his statements were over the top.

MO = use logic to arrive at conclusions, apply liberal dose of what used to be conservative values before the Republican Party was overtaken by right wing nutters and super patriots, inject a decent respect for the propriety of reason and eschew cognitive dissonance and then post and challenge the debate.

Yep, that's what I'm about. And, in Republican circles that gets me in hot water all the time.

Although I've gotten used to it, I've rarely tired of it.

Courage is the base virtue on which all others rest. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the willingness to steadfastly elevate the importance of honorable and just objectives above fear.

If Phillips believes what he said about not being willing to risk his life for a million dollars but he admires those who risk theirs for little or nothing (but patriotism?) he's lacking the base value mentioned above and he has not elevated his patriotism to a high enough level to make his incessant flag waving credible.

Because virtually all the Tea Partiers wrap themselves in the flag and endless spout words and phrases that would make someone believe they were the epicenter of patriotism it's the right thing to do to point out the obvious contraditions between their public displays and what are, apparently, their true beliefs.

So, I did...and got banned immediately.
