if your gonna be in red hook and you do go with double header, go with the older captain they got working for them... i forget his name. thats my opinion on that. we went out with them last year and the younger kid gave us the run around. left busting yellowfin on the wall for a far off fad that had been pillaged all morning long by every other boat out there. came back to the wall and all we found were skipjacks.

however, if you are sailing towards megan bay, from red hook, pullin a few small jets or similar, you should be able to get in on the boneheads and macks.

    I fished the southdrop last week week whent 0-1 on a blue(pulled hook ) missed a whitey and caught 2 mahi's, 45Lber and 52.

From what i gathered hanging around the docks in redhook you need to watch your azz fishing in the british water, its some big big fines if they catch you and you dont have the right permits.

I did this a few years back on a bareboat. I trolled small feathers between islands and caught a bunch of small odds and ends (pompano, bonito, barracuda).

I also did a lot of dingy trolling around reef edges. Caught a ton of barracuda and mackeral this way. I did also once dingy troll the drop on the backside of Anegada (you must go, best island of the bunch). Tons of action here and got spooled on a 6/0 and also had a bite off on wire. Banged up the marauders pretty well with big barracuda and had a shark-bit cuda.

I was completely unaware of the permit issue at the time....

ill second the permit issue thing... i guess we were pretty irresponsible about it. we rented a 24cc over in tortola and trolled everywhere we went. awesome tarpon fishing around the road town harbor in tortola. plugs and live bait around the piers. big tarpon...

definitely need to stop over at the willy t. i believe its in a cove over on georges island, straight across from the road town harbor. ask around, everyone down there knows it.

backside of that island, the west side, there is a pretty sharp sharp drop off. that held a lot of bait and fish. lost a nice wahoo cause we werent really rigged up for them.

just be careful in the pass between the islands (tortola, st john, georges, yost). depending on what the weather does, it can stack up pretty quick in there.

Well unfortunatly I've returned from vacation. The weather was beautiful for the majority of the week and the water was a very inviting 83-84 degrees, . Set sail from Tortola on Sunday 05/25 and the island hopping began. We went to Cooper's Island, The Bitter End at Virgin Gorda via the Baths, Anegada, Cane Garden Bay via Monkey Point, Soper's Hole, St John, Norman's Island (Where we experienced the Willy T) and back to Coopers before making our way back to Tortola a week later. Every aspect of the trip was phenominal.. the painkillers were cold, the snorkling was great and the sailing was a blast. We snorkled with Rays, Tarpon, Barracuda's, Mackeral, tropical fish etc etc etc... Little spooky at times swimming by the 'cudas knowing they're eyeing you down! We got the lines wet a couple of times and endded up with a Barracuda, a couple of Jacks and a portion of a kingfish. My brother hooked up to the kingfish with medium action spinning gear on the troll back from Anegada. After turning upwind to slow the boat down a little bit he fought it for about 5 minutes before there was no longer any fight in the fish. First thought was it spit the hook but there was still to much tension for nothing to be on the other end. He reeled it in and sure enough only half the fish was left. By the looks of the bite taken out of it whatever ate it while we were hooked up to it was BIG... unfortunatly we didn't see what it was but it sure kept some of the girls out of the water for the rest of the day!
