AUTO TRANSPORTER HELP

This is the deal. Last week in typical redneck fashion I strapped a box spring and mattress to the top of my Hummer and loaded up stuff inside and took off to the windy city of Chicago(cold as crap too) to move my son into an apartment(really just a room but they call it an apt.). I don't cherish the thought of driving 13 1/2 hrs up and flying back to carry his car so I am looking into shipping it up there. Does anyone here have any experiences or recommendations as to who to go thru. I am getting quotes now from 575 to 804. I don't want to get hosed on price but more importantly I want someone who can get it there in one piece.

Surely there are some snowbirds up in the NE that have experience shipping cars to FLA.

Those 3rd party carriers are a little slimmy at times. I own a Mayflower moving agency in MD, and could get it shipped up for you. Price wise we would be $300.00 to $400.00 more expensive, but you would have the name of the van line to fall back on. Let me know if I can help.

Your going to pay a high price for such a large vehicle.

i am not sure who is going to be your best bet but some of the more well known guys are pretty good.. just make sure they have good insurance coverage and can cover it.. stay away from the inside storage ones.. they can be expensive and a real pain in the arse.

i would do it for yah but driving to chicago is waaaaaaaaaaay to cold for me!! Lol

unless you throw in some coffee and some fishing when i get down to nc! lol

I am not shipping my veh I am shipping a Chev Equinox. I had the luxury of parking my veh and it was testy. Heck the valet at a resturant told me to just leave it in the valet area since it wouldn't fit in their valet lot.

i hear they are a decent company.. know people who have used them.. did a quick quote and it said 588.00...

it is not going to be cheap.. stinks but they have to try and fill the truck..

be thankful it isnt the hummer. they would hit you will a double charge! haha

This one is almost paid for and anything you buy used up there is going to be rusted out. Salt is used in abundance up there probably much like it is up in Mass. except they get alot more snow.
