I just watched the vid with our Admin. and the Asian guy talking about cooking and eating the tuna head and eye's. It seems that the will eat about anything you set in front of them.
I was watching a fishing and hunting show on the TV the other day and that girl that has the show was fishing on the Mekong River and the were catching the Giant Mekong Catfish. After the were through fishing the had lunch and the guide asked her to try some kind of fish, or some kind of meat that was soaked in horse urine...that's right horse urine. Now what kinda person would find the need to do that ?? I can't understand what was going through the persons head when they dreamed that recipe up. A company I worked for had plants in China and a coworker had to go over to work with them for 2 weeks. He got back 30 lbs. lighter. He said that the food sucked big time. They fed you fish with the guts still in them and worse. I had Chinese for lunch today...I don't know why

I agree - my brother married a chinese girl and the last party they had they served duck feet. they tasted exactly what you would think duck feet with soy sauce would taste like. It was better than the 100year old eggs that I've seen. they take an egg and bury it in a compost pile for a year or so, and then eat it. WTF!!

I guess in different countries,some things are just the way they like them. I definately can't imagine horse urine as a marinade..... . But if you think about it, that must have been one damn hungry indian that first decided to eat an oyster.

That dish was actually invented in the Phillipines and there it's an almost hatched duck egg and called a Balut. It's buried and fermemted.....um...um....good!

I've been to Asia sevetral times and can't say that I enjoy the food, but they can same the same about our food. We have Chinese working here for several months at a time and they can't stand our food, especially "Chinese" food. You won't find white meat chicken in China for instance, but you will find fried chicken feet. The nastier something tastes the better is is for you from what I could gather. All the truly nasty stuff is either good for a man's virility or a woman's fertility. I guess when you don't have enough food, you find ways to get people to eat just about anything. Nothing goes to waste.

I have a friend who is Chinese and he laughs everytime I ask him whats for dinner 'Chinese food'. His response everytime is Chinese food only exist in America and there is no such thing as chinese food to Chinese...to them its just breakfast, lunch and dinner...that they call food. He said General Tsao chicken is definitely something General Tsao's would have never eaten or thought of back in his time

I have often thought the same thing about the first guy to eat a crab. What was he thinking. I love crabs but if I was the guy that caught the first one the last thing I would do is eat it.
