    ashes to the sea...

Need advice here, my dad died this past Sunday, due to an overzealous ME,his body was autopsied,so i opted to have him cremated, being he was US Navy Armed Guard, and loved the sea,i want to spread his ashes in the LI Sound, where he grew up and spent many hours fishing, being i am now living in North Carolina, i am unfamiliar with boat rentals in the Southampton area, or even charters, it will only be 5-8 of us...any ideas? Thanks

Southampton is on the south side of Long Island, the sound is on the north side. Do you want the sound or atlantic ocean?

We are in Connecticut on Long Island sound and have done a few "ashes" charters for a friend with a funeral home.

Problem is we won't be up and running until April or so. I'm sure you can find a member here in the Southampton area to go for a "boat ride"

Sorry to hear about the death of your dad buddy. Where he is ex-military, the CG local to the area you wish to spread the ashes may take you for the ride, they've done a few trips for departed fishermen in our area.

    Marine4003-

I keep my boat right on LI sound at the mouth of the Mystic River. It's about a one hour cruise to Greenport, Montauk or Three Mile Harbor for me.

My boat will not be splashed until mid-April, but I would be glad to help you honor your father and make the Maggie B available to you at no charge if you can wait until late-April to early May.

    PM me if interested.
