As said above, you can build a rod with a cardboard box for a jig and an encyclopedia (???) for thread tension. Substitute a good telephone book since encyclopedias are about extinct by now. I built my first dozen or so on a homemade jig but did invest in a drying motor for the finish application. Also willing to discuss details if you like. Good luck...Joe
