Ihave been there and really loved it. I stayed at a Sandals resort and it was one of the most beautiful ones i stayed at with hidden jacuzzi's etc. The beaches are nice, not as white and soft as the Dominican Republic but nice, i would recommend it to anyone, look on the sandals resorts if going with a boyfriend, girlfried, wife if not there has got to be another great resort there.
i have tried to post pictures and i can't seem to do it right ever so i kinda gave up
Went to St. Lucia on my honeymoon in 2005. I enjoyed the weather and stayed at one of the sandals resorts. No one told us they were doing work to the hotel we stayed at. So if you were sitting by the pool we would hear hammer guns all day, everyone there, was really fired up by the third day in a row and started complaining. I tried the half day offshore trip through sandals's package with a private charter they use. It was like an open boat trip, with all new grooms. 2 boats went out and it was truly a joke. The captains didn' t give a crap if you caught fish or not. The baits washed out and were never changed . I saw baitfish boiling on the water and pointed out to the captain, who didn't even go near it. They loaded up the boat with beer and expected you to get drunk and not care. I fished with 5 English guys, who were so excited about maybe catching their first big fish, and i didn' have the heart to tell them we were getting robbed. When we got to the dock I went to the owner and told him I would respect him more if he kicked me in the nuts, and then took my money. The thing here is this was one of maybe only four or five charter boats on that island. There isn't many charter boats and his charter business seemed like one of the more promising. There are a couple of resorts on the island and we did go to another one for a day and it was beautiful. I will never make the mistake again and not ask if they are currently working on the hotel when I book a trip. By the way no boats caught anything and the owner gladly told me the old " that's why they call it ........" They didn't even try to catch anyone fish - that's what bothered me.
my vote is for sandals also , had a great experiance with them . some things to see are the pitons , volcano , waterfall botanical gardens . we used a private guide to see the island he had a new custom van for us . I can lookup his email address for you if you want .
was there in 04...island is awesome..did an island tour on the pirate ship for the pirates of the carabbian movies...
Stayed there as well. Almond Bay resort. Lots of fun. If you dive i HIGHLY reccomend you dive there. AMAZING scuba diving. Dive the foot of the Peton' (superman's flight). Fishing is so so. We rented a charter with this HORRIBLE outfit. Caught nothing all day. Other boat had 4 marlin releases.
fishing is MORE than so-so in st lucia i can guarantee that ...if you book through a hotel that caters 95% of the time to first time fishermen and couple on a honey moon that are really on the boat to site see what do you expect to get? hahahah
and as with anywhere there is a billfish season you must be aware of.
it really annoys me that people will base fishing in a caribbean island on one trip they have taken through a resort they are staying at.
i think 4 blue releases is a good day any where, what about you?
I stayed at Ti Kaye Village Feb 2006 on my honeymoon and I would give it two thumbs up, by far I would go back in a second, the staff are on top of there game, the beach at the resort is the best on the Island, all the other resorts headed to this beach for snorkeling. My wife and I went to see the Volcano with the mud tub and hot water spring from the volcano, horseback ridding, a local fish fry, etc I would recomend this resort for more of a low key stay, very personable place, try the frozen BBC.
